Continuing our series on Summer Fire Safety this week EFD would like to offer a few tips on Campfire Safety.

- Make sure campfires are legal in the area, especially while visiting state and national parks
- Build campfires away from dry vegetation
- Never leave a campfire unattended
- Do not wear scarves, skirts or other loose fitting clothing near a campfire
- Always keep a shovel and plenty of water nearby
- Do not let children play near campfires
- When finished with your campfire, douse it with water, stir it with your shovel, and douse it with water again.
