Enumclaw Man Dies In SR 165 Motorcycle Crash

ENUMCLAW, WA - A 59-year-old Enumclaw man died Monday afternoon in a collision with a pickup truck south of Buckley, according to Washington State Patrol.

Lee Duane Smith was driving northbound along SR 165 around 4:30 p.m. in the Burnett area when he apparently lost control of his Harley Davidson, crossed the center line, and hit a pickup truck heading southbound.

The driver of the pickup, Everett E. Riggs, 42, of Buckley, was not injured.

Police believe Smith might have been speeding in the moments before the crash. The crash caused SR 165 to close for over four hours.
