Enumclaw Police Mourns Loss of 20-year Veteran
Sgt. Steve Robinson died Sunday after battling illness.
Enumclaw Police Sgt. Steve Robinson died Sunday after a brief illness, according to a city news release.
Witnesses reported seeing more than 25 police cars lining the route headed towards Weeks' Funeral Home in Buckley from St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma Sunday as Robinson was honored. Officers from departments in Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, Bonney Lake and Buckley helped control traffic to allow his procession to the funeral home.

According to Roger, in addition to the departments previously listed, representatives from Black Diamond police,Β Washington State Patrol, the U.S. Forest Service and King County Sheriff's Office were also present to pay their respects and help control traffic.Β The Enumclaw and Buckley fire departments also presented honors at Weeks' Funeral Home.

Robinson was a 20-year veteran of the department. As of today, police are holding further comment out of respect for Robinson's family, according to Lt. Bob Huebler. Nonetheless, the atmosphere at the department is somber as his death was "not an expected thing," he said.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 23 at 12 p.m. in the Enumclaw High School gym.
