Enumclaw Still Accepting Applications For Vacant Council Seat

The deadline to apply is approaching at the end of February.

ENUMCLAW, WA - After the resignation on Jan. 9 of councilman Morgan Irwin, Enumclaw is still accepting applications for residents interested in serving the remainder of his term through November.

Irwin was appointed earlier in January by Pierce and King county council members to fill a vacant 31st Legislative District state House seat. Soon after, he resigned from City Council.

"I feel it is best I step down as your position 1 council member to focus on the work that needs to be done in our [Legislature]," he wrote in a statement on Jan. 13. "I will continue our city’s and district’s work as your newest state representative. I am still here to serve as your voice on the issues that matter most."
