Enumclaw's Truck Show And School Supply Drive Is Back

ENUMCLAW, WA - Free hot dogs and hamburgers, a raffle jam-packed with prizes, and a giant parking lot full of cool trucks - sounds pretty great, right?

It gets event better: the 2018 Fugate Ford Truck Show and School Supply Fundraiser also helps local students load up on supplies for back to school.

Keith Westby, a truck enthusiast and Fuget's parts manager, founded the truck show in 2017. The dealership liked the idea, and decided to combine the Westby's truck show idea with an annual fundraiser for Nexus Youth and Families.

The 2017 event raised nearly $600, which went to Nexus to purchase backpacks full of school supplies for local students. The show also attracted some 40 trucks, many more than organizers were expecting.

"It's just anything from the most kick-butt looking pavement princess trucks to ones where you're like, 'how did that make it there?'" said Jennifer Westby, the show's marketing coordinator and Keith's wife.

The show this year is already bigger. Jennifer Westby said the event has already received some $900 in donations. Fugate is clearing out extra space in anticipation of lots more people bringing out their trucks.

The event is free for both spectators and to display a truck. It's a kid-friendly event, and organizers will be giving out 20 free backpacks full of supplies the day of the event. There will also be a Ford F-350 that Westby aims to fill with school supplies.

A group of local sponsors have donated prizes worth up to $1,500. The sponsors include: Fugate Ford; Powerstroke Diesel; Northwest Custom Diesel; Outlaw Diesel; Pacific Northwest Ram; Vape Hub; Platinum Real Estate; Extreme Articulation; Veca Electric and Technologies; and ATAK.

So bring a pack of pencils and your truck - judges will pick the best truck at the show for a grand prize.
