Frugal Family: Consignment and Founder Sales
There are big deals this week on high-end, used kids items and on nearly everything at Fred Meyer. Plus, get a free drink from McDonalds just for showing up!
There are several consignment sales in our region, but this one stands out as the "high-end" sale. The weekend-long sale happens twice a year and the spring sale is happening this weekend, May 12 - 14 at The Commons in Kent. During the last sale, there were over 9,000 items sold. In addition to the used name brand items for sale, there are also handmade and boutique gifts for babies and kids. Check out the website for details and driving directions.
Each year, Fred Meyer has a huge sale in honor of thier founder and namesake. This is definitely the biggest sale of the year for Fred Meyer and a great place to use your coupon stash to match-up with the great sale prices. Make sure you take the flyer that came in the mail, or pick one up at customer service on your way into the store. Many items are marked down, but customers get additional savings if they clip the coupons from the flyer. My favorite sale items from the online flyer are the solid flat of annual flowers for only $9.99, flip-flops for $3.99 and the entire page of buy-one, get-one free items on the last page. MICHAEL'SHere is a printable coupon, good from May 12-14 for Michael's, worth 20 percent off your entire purchase. Our closest stores are in Puyallup and Federal Way, but it may be worth the drive if you are stocking up on scrapbooking, beading, or other crafting supplies.

McDonalds is working hard to update it's menu and locations to match the changing tastes of it's customers. In addition to the McCafe menu items, the chain has decided to offer customers in Western Washington free samples of its Frozen Strawberry Lemonade (one per customer per visit) during the hours of 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. on May 12-14. There is no coupon needed for this deal. The cashier will offer each customer the opportunity for the free drink. In the hope that you will love the new frozen treat, they are also offering this printable coupon for $1 off your next frozen drink purchase.
REDBOXIt's Free Movie Night with Redbox this Thursday, May 12. Visit the Redbox Facebook page to get your code to pick up a free rental at your nearest rental machine. This deal comes up about once each month so once you "like" the page, you will be notified for each free movie night.
