WHEN? Friday through Sunday

WHY GO? Combat the gloomy weather forecast for the weekend and head to the indoor Aquatics Center, where visitors will enjoy discount rates for all programs.

HOW MUCH?  All programs $2 resident/$3 non-resident.

LOWE’S BUILD AND GROW, Bonney Lake

WHEN? 10 a.m. Saturday

WHY GO? Make a wooden biplane with stickers and cutout decorations.  A great family activity geared toward children ages 5 and up.

HOW MUCH? Free with required registration.

TEEN LIBRARY-CARD DESIGN CONTEST, Pierce County Libraries

WHEN? Due Monday

WHY DO? Teens in grades 7-12 can submit artwork for the Pierce County Library System's new cards. A professional artist will select the top designs among the submissions and the public will vote on the winner.

HOW MUCH? Free

TIGER CUBS' 1st BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium

WHEN? Saturday

WHY GO? It’s been a whole year since tiger cubs Bima and Mali were born.  See these big cats get special birthday treats during the Tacoma zoo's celebration.

HOW MUCH? All activities free with zoo admission, which is of varying costs.

FOLKLIFE , Seattle Center

WHEN? Friday through Monday

WHY GO? Immerse yourself in the 40th annual staging of the tradition that is Folklife. The festival features stories, shows, music, crafts, activities and food for all ages.

HOW MUCH? The festival is free, though a donation of $10 per person or $20 per family or group is suggested.
