Graduation: A Bittersweet Ending

Graduation is a time to think back on all the memories youβve shared with your friends for the past four years of your high school career and possibly beyond. People have made so many connections with their friends, but now they will have to look ahead into the future, and start to plan their lives. Β Whether itβs going to a four-year university, two-year community college, trade school, the military, or starting out working immediately after high school, many people will look forward to starting a new chapter in their life.
I know I will greatly miss high school. Β I have made so many memories with so many amazing people. Β But I also cannot wait to graduate and go off to college. Β While it will be sad leaving my friends, I know I will meet many new friends at Pacific Lutheran University this coming fall. Β Branching out and making new friends will be good for me, along with learning how to live without other people holding my hand along the way and making sure I get everything done on time.

To go from being one of the top dogs in high school to the bottom of the food chain entering college will be a hard step to take. Β Seniors at the high school level feel like theyβre on top of the world, but once they enter massive universities, like the University of Washington, they will probably feel like they have to work their way up the ladder once again.
The great thing about small colleges, like Pacific Lutheran University, is it will allow me to become close friends with my professors, because the student to teacher ratio is 15:1, which is half that of high school. Β

On Monday, June 13, I will be graduating from Enumclaw High School, and I will be looking to begin a new chapter in my life, just like many other seniors. Β I will be looking forward to living my life to the fullest and not making any regrets along the way. Β I hope every senior from the graduating class of 2011 will share the same success I hope to accomplish.
