GREAT ESCAPE: GO take a hike

Enjoy our surroundings and set off a path less travelled.

Now that the temperatures are starting to rise, grab a friend, partner or roommate and make for the trails.

A mere 18 miles up Highway 410, and within Federation Forest State Park, will find you at Catherine Montgomery Interpretive Center with over 12 miles of trails, a couple picnic shelters and plenty of evergreen discovery.

If you prefer something a little more local, and without a half-day commitment, consider Enumclaw's just minutes down the road, which offers a steep incline and a power workout in about an hour's time.

For those looking for something more challenging and possibly more physically demanding, pop into the Forest Service Station located at the edge of Enumclaw where you can get maps and information from your friendly Forest Rangers.
