Help VFW Honor King County Vets Who Never Received Recognition
Enumclaw VFW Post 1949 will be conducting a military honors ceremony today at 1 p.m. at the Purple Heart Monument
If you're going to be near downtown this afternoon, consider stopping by the Purple Heart Monument in Enumclaw's Veterans Park at and help local VFW Post 1949 honor 97 deceased King County veterans who were buried without ever receiving the honors they earned and deserve.
The local VFW, along with the Washington Army National Guard, will be conducting the Military Honors Ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. The service takes no longer than 30 minutes but provides an opportunity for reflection and giving thanks to the men and women who serve in our armed forces.
We made a little video of one of the VFW's ceremonies earlier this year if you wanted to get a better idea what this was all about. .
