Sunday, August 5

Hit and Run Arrest: One person was taken into custody by Washington State Patrol after a reported hit and run accident on the 1800 block of Florence Street at 12:47 p.m. The reporting party followed the suspect vehicle out of town onto S.E. 432nd Street; it had ripped the bumper off a parked vehicle.

Traffic Arrest: A driver was arrested for third-degree driving while license suspended following a traffic stop on the 1300 block of Roosevelt Avenue at 4:13 a.m.

A driver was arrested for third-degree driving while license suspended and two outstanding warrants following a traffic stop on Roosevelt Avenue at Farman Street at 10:25 p.m.

Burglary: Police received a report at 3:55 p.m. that there was a burglary attempt at a residence on the 200 block of Florence Street. A screen door to a locked window was cut and a lawn chair cushion was cut, but there was no entry gained.

Domestic Disturbance: Police responded to a verbal domestic incident at 11:09 p.m. at a residence on the 2700 block of Initial Place. The matter was settled.

Tuesday, August 7

Vehicle Prowl: A GPS unit was stolen from a vehicle parked on the 4200 block of 268th Avenue S.E. and was reported at 2:54 p.m.

Harassment: Police responded to a report at 4:26 p.m. that a neighbor was being harassed by another neighbor on the 2600 block of Warner Avenue. Both would leave the other alone and the matter was settled.

Drivers License Found: A Washington state Department of Licensing license was found in the roadway on Cole Street at Marshall Avenue at 6:30 p.m. The property is being held at the police station.

Wednesday, August 8

Burglary: Police responded to a location in the city (information redacted in report) at 6:41 a.m. regarding a burglary that occurred overnight. There was damage to a door worth about $500.

Theft: A wallet was reported stolen at 12:42 p.m. from the 3000 block of Griffin Avenue.

Hit and Run: A two-car non injury accident was reported at 2:01 p.m. on the 1100 block of Roosevelt Avenue. The suspect vehicle left the scene; it was described as a dark blue SUV last seen heading westbound on Roosevelt Avenue.

A hit and run occurred at 5:01 p.m. on Lincoln Avenue at Florence Street. The suspect vehicle was not found; neighbors would keep an eye out.

Wandering Toddler: Police responded to a report that a toddler was on her own in the area of Willow Drive at Douglas Fir Drive at 3:58 p.m. The responding officer found family at a nearby residence. She had gotten out while being watched by a family member and was returned.

Juveniles: Police responded to a report at 6:53 p.m. that a group of juveniles were in the park area off Riggs Drive East smoking marijuana. They were advised they weren't allowed in the park; one was taken to the police station to be picked up by a parent.

Thursday, August 9

Vehicle Recovered: A motorcycle reported stolen was found on Kibler Avenue at Harding Street at 5:52 a.m. though the suspect was not found. It was returned to the registered owner.

Vehicle Prowl: Police received a report at 10:54 a.m. of an attempted theft of a vehicle parked on the 200 block of Roosevelt Avenue. The vehicle was ransacked and a set of shaved vehicle keys were found on the ground.

Suspicious Person: Police responded to a report at 2:55 p.m. that a suspicious occupied vehicle was in the parking lot of a bank on the 1200 block of Cole Street. The responding officer confiscated drug paraphernalia but found the driver was not impaired.

Patrol Vehicle Hit: A police patrol vehicle was struck while parked during a traffic stop on the 1300 block of Garrett Street at 4:29 p.m. No one was hurt.

Lost Keys: Police received a report at 8:26 p.m. that a set of keys and key ring were lost on Lafromboise Street.

Domestic Disturbance: Police responded to a verbal domestic incident at a residence on 264th Avenue S.E. at 9:42 p.m. The parties agreed to separate and the matter was settled.

Armed Shopping: Police received an anonymous report at 10:33 p.m. that a man with a gun had just entered Safeway. Police checked the building and found nothing suspicious.

Friday, August 10

Wandering Child: Police responded to a report at 8:06 a.m. that a young child was seen unattended in the grass of the apartments on the 600 block of Myrtine Street. The responding officer was able to reunite the child with his mother; he had opened a screen door and wandered into the yard.

Barking Dog: Police responded to a complaint of a barking dot at 12:23 p.m. at a residence on the 1100 block of Loraine Street. No one was home; the officer left a note.

Juvenile: Police received a report at 5:24 p.m. that a male teen was harassing other children in the area of the 2600 block of Laukala Place and had just set off a firework. He had left the area when police arrived; a phone message was left for his parents.
