Fame and fortune of the unrooted soon become uprooted, divest.
Profits go up in smoke and their demise is looming.
Rejoice, be glad you have neither wealth nor fame–you are unassuming;
Be true and solid and be not compelled to speak compliments to those who failed—

This poem is a rewrite of Psalm 129, but as you read it again, imagine that the American Veteran is the “I” in the poem. Our Veterans are not seeking fame and fortune; they are simply desirous of the honor that is due to them. Our country was fought for by good men and women and founded on solid Christian values, not by the wealthy and wicked ungodly people who even today threaten to bring us down. God Bless the American Veterans!
