Input Sought on Performing Arts Needs and Wants in the Plateau Community

Have you been enjoying the multiple entertainment events that have taken place at the Chalet Theatre in Enumclaw recently?

Whether it was the week-long Folk Music as History children's series in February, blues artist Reggie Miles, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, children's entertainer Eric Ode or pianist Bob Milne, there is one local organization to thank for putting on these events.

The Chalet Arts Showcase Theater (CAST) group was formed in 2011 to explore how to expand and optimize the local landmark theatre for use as more than just a venue for motion pictures.

To better understand the needs of the community and how residents in and around Enumclaw might use the theatre, CAST has sought the help of University of Washington graduate student Mochen Cui who is beginning her work in conducting a feasibility study of the venue.

One foundation of Cui's work is a survey she has prepared to collect community input, not so much about the Chalet but about needs and wishes for community arts amenities at large.
