Irwin Applauds $10M Budget Earmark For Local Projects
Rep. Morgan Irwin offered comments on the state's plan to earmark $10 million of its $4.6 billion budget proposal for the 31st District.

From Washington State House Republicans : On Monday afternoon, the state House of Representatives released its proposed 2019-21 capital budget. The $4.6 billion proposal includes approximately $10 million in funding for local projects around the 31st Legislative District.
Rep. Morgan Irwin, a member on the House Capital Budget Committee, says the proposed funding will offer much needed capital improvements for many of his local communities, including:
- $381,000 for the Mt. Peak historical fire lookout tower in Enumclaw
- $309,000 for the Tehaleh Slopes mountain bike park in Bonney Lake
- $258,000 for the Enumclaw Aquatic Center
- $258,000 for the Fennel Creek trailhead in Bonney Lake
- $250,000 for the Enumclaw Expo Center roof
- $36,000 for Wilkeson water protection project
“I'm glad to see our district financially represented in the capital budget, and these projects earmarked to receive funds,” said Irwin, R-Enumclaw. “These projects were driven by local interest and advocacy. Without strong local support, none of these projects would've been included in the House's proposed budget. I will continue to work closely with our budget writing team to ensure these funds remain in the final budget.”
