JBLM Soldier Killed in Afghanistan
The Department of Defense reports Saturday that Staff Sgt. Alexander G. Povilaitis died May 31 in Kandahar province.
A Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier died this week in the Kandahar province in Afghanistan, the Department of Defense announced today.
Staff Sgt. Alexander G. Povilaitis, 47, of Dawsonville, Ga., died May 31 of wounds sustained from a roadside bomb.
Povilaitis was assigned to 14th Engineer Battalion, 555th Engineer Brigade, Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
