Join Rotary for Breakfast at Applebee's on March 10 and Support AIDS Caregiver Kits Project
The Enumclaw Rotary Club is working with World Vision in this its fourth year to generate funds for the purchase of and providing volunteers for the assembly of AIDS Caregiver Kits.

Join the Enumclaw Rotary Club for pancake and eggs breakfast on Saturday, March 10 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Bonney Lake Applebee's and support its effort in working with World Vision to provide Caregiver Kits for volunteers who work with AIDS victims around the world.
The cost is $10.00 with half of that amount going towards the purchase of AIDS Caregiver kits.
This is the fourth year that Rotary has worked with World Vision on this project, according to a press release. In addition to the breakfast, organizers are inviting local churches, community groups and individuals to join the effort in either raising funds for the purchase of or volunteering to assemble the Caregiver kits.

Anyone or any group can get involved with this international project.
Last year the Rotary project raised just over $4,400 and volunteers assembled approximately 150 kits. Each kit costs $30 and contains anti-diarrheal medicine, batteries and flashlight, acetaminophen, cotton balls, washcloths, notebook and pen, latex gloves, petroleum jelly, soap, and, what touches the volunteer caregiver the most, a personal note thanking them for their work.

Kit contents are supplied and then shipped by World Vision – with the kit assembly done by community organizations.
This World Vision project supports the volunteers who are already trying to care for the nearly 40 million people currently infected with HIV with very few tools. Nearly 3 million people die as a result of AIDS each year with a total of 25 million people dying since it was first identified in the 1980s. Today, one in every eight people contracting HIV is a child under age 15. There have been some improvements in preventing infection and conversion to AIDS, but many of the victims are in very poor areas with little or no health care. The village volunteer may be one of the few care providers available.
If you're not able to make the breakfast but would like to help, there are additional ways to join the Enumclaw effort to help raise the necessary funds:
• Purchase Taco Time Fundraiser Coupon Books for $1.00 from a Rotarian. All proceeds to the Caregiver Project.
• Sponsor the cost of one or more kits.
• Volunteer to assemble the kits from 1 to 3 p.m. June 9th at the Enumclaw Community (Senior) Center.
“This is wonderful way for our community to reach out to another needful community,” Rotary organizers said.
Enumclaw Rotary Club is supporting this event as an international project and has contributed $500. In addition, other community groups have also expressed an interest in participating.
