King County Fair a Music Lover's Dream

From Kiss to John Denver, from “The Voice” to Neil Diamond and Stevie Ray Vaughn, music lovers will have all kinds of choices at the King County Fair July 7-10 at the Expo Center in Enumclaw.

The $5 admission fee gets you into all of the concerts and much more. Children 4 and younger are free.

Also at the fair there will strolling comedy by Matt Baker and the Vince Van Vander Show, which includes the games Family Feud, Jeopardy and America’s Got Talent with prizes. As always there will be carnival rides and 4-H livestock shows and exhibits.

Other attractions include food, pig races, petting zoo, lawnmower races, tractor pulls and an antique tractor display.

Exhibits include: arts and crafts, home decor, hot tubs, playgrounds, t-shirts, novelty items, pet products and more.

The fair gets started Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m. Highlighting the night is a battle of the bands, featuring Perpetual Jet Lag, Ramiro, The Wheels, Inside-out & Backwards and A Version Of. Carnival rides, normally $20 each, are two for one that night.

The fair runs 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Friday’s music includes the rock band Stript at 3 p.m., pop rock band Pilots at 5 and the Vaughan tribute band called Stevie Ray Guns at 7 p.m.

Saturday’s music starts with folk singer Sarah Jayne Cedars at 11 a.m., Denver look-a-like Ted Vigil at 2:30 p.m., classic rock/rhythm and blues band UC7 at 4, and the Diamond tribute band Cherry Cherry at 6. Justin Grennan of Enumclaw, who recently was a standout on the popular new TV show “The Voice,” will perform at 8, and topping off the night will be Mojo Overload at 9:30.

The fair runs from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday. Music includes the country group Sundowners at noon, Kiss 2 at 4 p.m., popular music band Black Velvet 4 at 6 and the fair ends with the rock band Shooting Star at 7 p.m.
