61 YOF. NOT-INJURED. FELL FROM CHAIR

DISPATCHED TO A NON MEDICAL PATIENT ASSIST. UPON ARRIVAL WE FOUND THE PT SITTING ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE CHAIR SHE SLIPPED OUT OF. SHE WAS ATTEMPTING TO STAND USING HER WALKER. PT HAD NO CC AND NO INJURIES. WE ASSISTED PT TO CHAIR THEN TO HER WALKER AND THEN INTO HER CAR. HER GRANDDAUGHTER WAS BRINGING HER IN FOR A CHECK UP. NO EMS REQUIRED. NO INJURY OR ILLNESS.

Department News:

We are currently looking for people interested in becoming wildland firefighters. The training will start on May 14th. Please visit our web site for more information.

We will be hosting a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) class in April and May. The classes will be on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The cost of the class will be $20 per student for all eight classes. To sign up or for more information please contact Tim Perciful at tperciful@kcfd44.org.

The first aid / CPR class on 4/29 still has plenty of openings. If you would like to sign up please contact tperciful@kcfd.org.

KCFD #44 will be handing out years of service awards at the April 10th Board of Commissioners Meeting. We have not handed the awards out for a few years so we have approximately 60 people that are up for an award. The awards are in 5 year increments and we have members that have been with the department for up to 35 years.
