Man, 56, Dies of Injuries Suffered in Motorcycle Crash

He collided with a van driven by a 24-year-old Kent man.

A 56-year-old man has died after his motorcycle collided with a commercial van last week near Black Diamond.

He has been airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he has since died of his injuries.

The accident occurred when a 24-year-old man from Kent was driving a 2007 Ford van northbound on 228th Ave. S.E. He turned left into the path of a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle driven southbound by the victim, a King County sheriff's news release says.

The motorcycle struck the van head-on at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at the intersection with S.E. Sawyer Ridge Way.
