More than $50,000 Raised at Enumclaw Full Day Kindergarten Event
Funds raised during the Enumclaw Schools Foundation's 5th Annual Full Day Kindergarten Dinner/Auction last Saturday will go toward paying for at least 20 scholarships for kindergarteners in the 2013-14 school year.

In an email update sent this past Thursday, Full Day Kindergarten event chair Nancy Merrill reported that last Saturday's Full Day Kindergarten Dinner/Auction netted more than $50,000 for at least 20 full day kindergarten scholarships for entering kindergarteners in the 2013-14 school year.

In the last five years that the fundraiser has occurred, the Enumclaw Schools Foundation has raised enough money to fund more than 100 full day kindergarten scholarships for students. As noted by ESF President Johna Thomson in the link above, the Enumclaw Rotary Foundation is responsible for funding 23 of those scholarships.

"The Enumclaw Rotary Foundation has provided full scholarships at $2,500 each, for students who are in need of the enriched curriculum and adjustment that takes place in a full day kindergarten classroom," Thomson wrote.
For the 2013-14 school year, several couples were also recognized for contributing an amount that covers a full scholarship:
