Northern Lights Could Create Awesome Sky Show Across Region On Saturday

A large solar outburst Thursday could lead to quite a spectacle over Western Washington Saturday.

This weekend could bring sunshine during the day and a gorgeous show on Saturday night.

A large solar outburst Thursday could lead to a sky show over Western Washington. According to KING-TV's Jeff Renner, Northern Lights could be visible across the region.

The X1.4 class flare erupted from the sun's Active Region 1520, which rotated into view last week. The flare created a coronal mass ejection, which is traveling in Earth's direction at more than 850 miles per second.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms were forecast for Enumclaw and most of the Seattle area Saturday though they're supposed to end Saturday night, so a stunning show could be in your future.
