Patch Picks: Thrill the Body
This week, Patch looks like five ways to physically and mentally optimize all the resources at your disposal right here in Enumclaw -- or right nearby.
In spite of the dismal weather forecast in the next few days, consider not crashing in front of the television and instead get the most out of some amazing resources you have right here on the Plateau.
It was deep yesterday, deeper today, and it looks like it is only going to get better. The weather forecast for Crystal Mountain is calling for snow, snow and more snow. The upper steeps still have some icy faces, but just below awaits clouds of that sweet and deep. Green Valley, Northback and the deep South have it going on.Β It dumped the majority of the day yesterday so this weekend will be prime. The gapers will be stuck on the Queen and Lucky Shot, while hidden fresh lines are waiting to be poached by those with knowledge of the mountain.
TAKE A CLASS AT ENUMCLAW FITNESS CENTERThere is a huge variety of classes to be taken at the . This is a local place, owned by local folk that are absolutely "bringing it" with the variety of classes they offer. ThereΒ offer 12 classes every weekday. They have multiple yoga classes and are starting some indoor cycling classes. They have kickboxing and Zumba. The variety and times that the classes are offered cannot be beat. I am going to go get myself a piece of that hot yoga after I float around the sweet and deep at Crystal Mountain. Β

is a sweet little local shop. They even let me put some skis on layaway. I just paid 'em off. For all of the millions of Seattle folk that cruise past on their way to our mountains this place is an icon. We are lucky to have it here. I am of the opinion that this place needs to be supported locally. If I need something for my bike or having to do with being outside, I go straight to Ski and Mountain and check them out first.Β I want our local outdoor businesses to thrive. This is a mountain town. Support it.
VISIT YOUR HEALTH STOREOn the corner of Cole and Myrtle is cool little health store, that provides vitamins of all types as well as tonics for the body, and it is the only place in town that a person can get some Dr. Bronners. Dr. Bronners is a soap made from hemp oil and natural ingredients. It is biodegradable andΒ certified fair trade. This is just an example of what you can find here. If your body needs something these guys can get it.

For some reason, I think that yoga on a Sunday is one of the most relaxing activities a person can do. And Enumclaw has a gem right here in town by the name of There is just something about Sundays, and there is just something about yoga. Put them together and you have a great day. If you took my advice and did some skiing this weekend, yoga will give your body some much-needed stretching and relaxation. Namaste.
