Pea Patch Damaged, $1,000 STHIL Appliance Stolen and Peacocks on the Loose in and July 19 to July 22 Blotter

Thursday, July 19

Property Damage: Police received a report at 12:12 p.m. that there was damage to property on the front porch of a home on the 1100 block of Wells Street.

No Soliciting: Police received a report at 1:34 p.m. that a white man in his late 20s wearing a blue polo shirt was seen carrying a sign and going door to door on Michael Avenue. If no one answered the door, he would stand in the yard and hold up the sign. He was warned to stop until he obtained a business license.

Vehicle Fire: Police assisted fire in responding to a vehicle fire on Griffin Avenue at Garfield Street at 4:03 p.m.

Burglary: Police received a report at 4:25 p.m. that an overnight burglary occurred at a home on Chinook Avenue in which a wallet and keys were taken; the residents were sleeping at the time.

Vehicle Prowls: A woman reported to police at 5:51 p.m. that her vehicle had been broken into while parked in a lot on the 3000 block of Griffin Avenue. A video camera was known to have been stolen though she was still completing her inventory of what was in her vehicle that might have gone missing.

Theft: Police received a report at 11:55 p.m. that items were stolen from tents at the Expo Center during Creationfest.

Reckless Burning: Police arrested one man at 6:38 p.m. after responding to a report that two people were seen trying to set the grass in a field on Warner Avenue at Watson Street on fire. The arrested was booked for reckless burning before later being released.

Pit Bull: Police received a report at 6:58 p.m. that a pit bull that had gotten off its leash had severely injured another dog and bit a person at a residence on Weatherbee Lane.

Friday, July 20

Vehicle Prowls: Police received a report at 12:08 a.m. that boots valued at $110 were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 45200 block of 284th Avenue S.E.

Theft: Police received a report at 11:36 a.m. that three impound signs were stolen from a parking lot on Chinook Avenue. They were valued at $30.

Property Damage: Police received a report at 4:02 p.m. that the pea patch community garden by the library was damaged. Extra patrol has been requested.

Noise Complaint: Police received four noise complaints related to Creation fest at the Expo Center.

Saturday, July 21

Theft: A STHIL appliance worth $1,000 was reported stolen from the back of a truck on A Court at 12:21 p.m.

Police received a report at 4:32 p.m. that a long board was taken from the back of a pick up truck while it was parked on the 300 block of Chinook Avenue.

Police received a report at 5:05 p.m. that a motor scooter was stolen from a residence on Wells Street that is currently vacant.

Peacocks: Police received a complaint at 3:47 p.m. that a group of peacocks were roaming the neighborhood on Florence Street and had been loose for a few days. The owner is believed to reside on Garfield Street. Police were unable to locate the owner but would advise them it was a violation of city ordinance to house non-domesticated animals within city limits.

Fight: Police received a report at 4:15 p.m. that an assault between two men occurred on Roosevelt Street. No injuries were reported.

Vehicle Prowl: Police received a report at 7:27 p.m. that someone went through a vehicle parked on the 3100 block of Florence Street but did not take anything.

Noise Complaint: Police received a complaint about music volume levels at Creation Fest at 10:16 p.m.

Sunday, July 22

Prowler: Police responded at 1:07 a.m. to a report of a prowler at a residence on Elmont Avenue. No one was found.

Domestic Disturbance: Police responded to a verbal incident between a mother and siblings who had been drinking at a residence on McKean Court at 1:27 p.m.

Shoplifting: Police received a report at 6:27 p.m. that a shoplifting had just occurred at QFC involving a male subject described as a Hispanic male, wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt and denim shorts. He was seen running out of the store and into a moving vehicle that was described as a light-colored Dodge headed toward Cole Street. He is believed to have taken alcohol.

Utility Problem: Police received a report of a flooding issue at Twisted Kitchen at 10:03 p.m. Water Department personnel shut off the water.
