Search For Missing Mount Rainier Skier Unsuccessful: Officials
A 30-year-old man from Washington state likely fell through snow near Pebble Creek.

ENUMCLAW, WA - Rescue crews searching for a missing skier on Mount Rainier have not been able to locate the 30-year-old Washington state man, according to the National Park Service. The man went missing on Monday while skiing with a partner from Camp Muir to Paradise. Officials believe he fell through snow while crossing Pebble Creek.
Rescue crews searched on the ground on Monday, and by air on Tuesday. Neither search turned up any sign of the missing skier. The skier's partner also searched using an avalanche probe, which helps measure how deep a person is under the snow.
“Using an avalanche probe, [the skier's] partner searched for two hours before completing his descent to Paradise to report the incident," Mount Rainier spokesperson Patti Wold said in a news release. "A ground search was conducted that evening followed by an aerial search this morning. Neither located any sign of the missing skier. Late season snow is creating unsafe search conditions. Search personnel will continue to monitor the area while waiting for conditions to improve."
