Speed a Factor in Weekend Accident that Injured Three

The cause of an early morning accident Saturday that injured three men near Enumclaw is still under investigation.

While the cause of a one-vehicle accident that occurred outside Enumclaw city limits Saturday morning and injured three men is still under investigation, officials confirm speed was a factor.

King County Sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West told Patch Tuesday that all three men were critically injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. She did not have an update on their conditions but confirmed the 19-year-old driver and one 17-year-old passenger are from Enumclaw while the second 17-year-old passenger is from Ravensdale.

According to West, the vehicle they were in, a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, was traveling westbound on S.E. 456th Way and failed to negotiate a curve where S.E. 456th Way becomes S.E. 452nd Street. The vehicle skidded from the oncoming lane, across the westbound lane and into a deep drainage ditch. The vehicle slid along the ditch until reaching a culvert under a driveway, rotated and came to rest in the driveway.
