Vehicle Batteries Stolen, Missing Black Lab, and Roleplaying Man Attracts Suspicion Among Neighbors in Jan. 3 to Jan. 7 Blotter

Thursday, Jan. 3

Shoplifting: Two people were arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident that occurred at a business on Roosevelt Avenue at 9:24 a.m.

Friday, Jan. 4

Theft: Police received a report at 12:32 p.m. that a digital camera was stolen from a property on Cole Street.

Herd Mentality: Police received a report at 12:51 p.m. that there were several goats loose in the south parking lot of the Expo Center. Several citizens helped to herd the goats down a long driveway to a safe area while police tried to contact the owner.

Missing Pet: Police received a report at 3:28 p.m. that a property on the 2400 block of Griffin Avenue was missing a 3-year-old black lab named 'Diesel' with blue/green camo collar.

Firearm Theft and Recovery: Police were notified at 4:41 p.m. that a theft of a firearm occurred at a home on Aspen Lane. That firearm was later recovered.

Saturday, Jan. 5

Vehicle Prowl: A resident on McHugh Avenue reported at 12:27 a.m. he found a female going through his vehicle. He chased her westbound on McHugh up until Division Street. She was described as a white female, about 20 years old and of a small build wearing a light blue jacket and backpack. There was not damage reported and nothing was taken.

A vehicle parked at Living Court had been broken into overnight. The incident was reported at 6:31 a.m. The passenger side window was broken and will cost about $200 to repair. Various items of clothing valued at $130 were taken.

Suspicious Person: Police received a report at 12:28 a.m. that a white male with long hair wearing a grey hoodie and a backpack was seen going through a year on 260th Avenue S.E.

Just Playing: Police received a report at 1:39 p.m. that a man on Michael Avenue was seen dressed in a dark suit, white gloves and a white stocking cap pulled down over his face. When met with police, he said he was role-playing. Officers advised against dressing/acting in this manner in a residential area.

Sunday, Jan. 6

Assault: One person was arrested for fourth-degree assault domestic violence after officers responded to a property on Semanski Street at 1:09 a.m.

A wife was taken into custody for fourth-degree domestic violence assault at 6:41 p.m. after police responded to a residence on Warner Avenue for a domestic incident.

Vehicle Stolen, then Found: Police received a report at 5:49 a.m. that a red Acura Integra had been stolen from a property on Loraine Street overnight. The Sheriff's Office reported at 4:38 p.m. that the vehicle had been found at about 2:30 p.m. on 236th Avenue S.E. with its stereo missing.

Car Parts Theft: Police received a report at 11:33 a.m. that a vehicle in front of a residence on Warner Avenue had been stripped of its battery overnight. The victim reported finding the hood up.

Police received a report at 11:57 a.m. that a battery and high performance modulator were stolen from a vehicle on S.E. 432nd Street within the last few days. The vehicle also sustained about $100 in damages.

Property Damage: Police received a report at 5:49 p.m. that a mailbox on Wynalda Drive had about $70 in damages.

Monday, Jan. 7

Vehicle Prowl: Police received a report at 9:26 a.m. that a vehicle on Clovercrest Street had been prowled sometime after 9:30 p.m. the night prior. One window was damaged but nothing was stolen.

Theft: Police received a report at 5:15 p.m. that a wallet was stolen from a home on Garfield Street.
