Black Diamond

On April 17 at 2:45 a.m. on the 30700 block 3rd Ave., an officer conducted a traffic stop for a speed violation. Upon contact, it was determined that the female driver had been driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was transported to Enumclaw Jail and her vehicle impounded.

On April 14 at approximately 11:58 a.m. on the 32300 block of Hammond Pl., officers received a call regarding a suspicious circumstance. Radio advised that a resident wanted to report that her neighbors were out of town and that she observed lights turn on and off in the garage. Officers arrived at the residence and found that the homeowners were home. They said that they were out of town the prior week.

On April 11 at approximately 8:34 a.m. on the 29000 block of 216th Ave. SE, officers were dispatched to a business for report of a shoplifting. The reporting party advised that an adult male was at the business shoplifting. Officers arrived and learned that the adult male had left without paying for “Pop-Tarts.” The male was arrested and cited for the Theft.

Covington

On April 10 at 8:30 p.m. on the 26100 block of 195th Pl. SE, a resident heard someone outside his bedroom. Upon looking outside, the resident observed three males walking by. The resident contacted the male and told them not to walk through the yard. They apologized and then asked for a cigarette. As they walked away, one was pushing a bicycle. The resident realized later that the bike the male was pushing belonged to the resident’s relative.

On April 7 at 1 p.m. on the 16700 block of SE 272nd St., a female was observed concealing merchandise inside her large purse and then exiting the business without attempting to pay for it. Upon contact, the female stated she had given the officer a wrong name after being told she would be prosecuted for theft. Check of the female’s real name revealed she had 2 warrants for Theft, 3rd degree. Search of her wallet revealed a temporary driver’s license in another name that she claimed was a “friend” of hers even though she has not seen her in over a year. Check of the “friend’s” name revealed she had a felony Department of Corrections warrant, however, the female continued to state that she had no idea how to contact the “friend.” The female was booked into the Regional Justice Center on her warrants. Information was sent to the prosecuting attorney for filing of charges for Theft, 3rd degree.

On April 5 between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. of April 6 on the 25700 block of 209th Loop SE, someone entered two unfinished residences and stole two uninstalled windows as well as caused damage by breaking a water main.

King County

On April 10 at 7:55 p.m. in the area of SE Petrovitsky Rd. and 140th Ave. SE, deputies were dispatched to a multi-car blocking collision. Upon arrival, a male was contacted still sitting in his vehicle with the airbags deployed. After speaking with four witnesses, all four stated that the male had been traveling at a high rate of speed. When he came to halted traffic, the male was unable to stop and ploughed into three vehicles stopped at an intersection. Another male came forward and stated that the male had hit him in a separate incident and had fled the scene without exchanging information. Two of the other four witnessed stated they were trying to catch up to the male when he crashed into the three vehicles. The male was contacted once again and told to exit his vehicle. Upon exiting, a strong odor of intoxicants could be detected coming from the male. After refusing to take the Field Sobriety Tests, the male’s vehicle was impounded. He gave two breath samples of .144/.146 and was booked into King County Jail for investigation of DUI, Reckless Driving, and Hit and Run Attended.

On April 9 between 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on the 28800 block of 164th Ave. SE, someone entered a residence through a probable unsecured door and dumped the contents of jewelry boxes into two pillowcases leaving the boxes behind.

On April 8 at 4:15 p.m. on the 29300 block of SE Green River Gorge Rd., a group of friends went to the river. One male jumped into the water and was swept into a small eddy against a rock face where no one could see him. Due to the high water and strong current, he was initially unable to get out so the others called 911. Meanwhile, his friends managed to drop a tree branch down to him, which he used to pull himself to safety before deputies arrived. The male denied any injuries and refused transport to a medical facility.

On April 8 at 8:20 a.m. on the 19800 block of SE 192nd St., a stolen vehicle was located in a wooded property with a man asleep inside and the engine on. The male was removed from the vehicle. The male claimed a friend gave him the vehicle. The male was booked into the Regional Justice Center for investigation of Possession of Stolen Property.

On April 8 at 1:35 a.m. on the 19000 block of 131st Ave. SE, according to a resident, while walking home, he observed a male driver driving erratically before following him. At one point, the male driver began threatening the resident until the resident called 911. Deputies located the male; however, the male took off in his vehicle. After parking the vehicle in a garage, the male went into the house. As deputies attempted to make contact, the male stated he had a gun so officers backed up for cover. Dispatch reported that the male could possibly be a convicted felon for Arson, 1st degree and Custodial Assault, but had no current warrants. Deputies left the scene.

On April 7 at 11:25 p.m. on the 17200 block of 140th Ave. SE, while checking a license plate, it was discovered that the registered owner had a misdemeanor warrant for Assault, 4th degree, Domestic Violence. Upon contact, the male was confirmed as the registered owner. The male was booked into SCORE (South Correctional Entity) on his warrant.

Maple Valley

On April 13 at 9:31 a.m. on the 26500 block of Maple Valley/Black Diamond Rd., a witness called regarding a very intoxicated male at the entrance of a business. Upon contact, the male showed signs of impairment, but not to the point that he was in danger to himself. He stated that his girlfriend was in the business. Officers were advised that the girlfriend had a warrant for criminal trespass. The female was located and a search revealed some drug paraphernalia in her backpack. The female was booked into SCORE on her warrant.

On April 13 at 9:01 p.m. in the area of SE 267th and Witte Rd. SE, a helmetless male was observed riding a female bicycle while holding onto and pulling a second mountain bicycle. Upon contact, the male stated that someone stole his helmet, that female bike belonged to his deceased mother. Check of the bikes ended with negative results. The male was cited for helmet violation before a friend came to pick him up.

On April 8 at 2 a.m. on the 22100 block of SE 237th St., a male and female were contacted outside of a business where they had been known to shoplift items. Check of the male returned clear, however, the business wanted both trespassed. The male and female were each given Trespass Warning Letters.
