Want to Give the Mud Mountain Melee 8K Trail Run a Go?
The fourth annual run takes place this Saturday at the Mud Mountain Recreation Area. Race begins at 9 a.m.

It might be early for us to say but it looks like between now and this coming Saturday, May 19, no precipitation is expected to fall on the Plateau. Couple that with the spectacular weather we've had these past few days and it looks like the run that happens Saturday morning may not be much of a muddy melee at all.
We'll let you decide if that's a good or bad thing. One thing is for sure: the Mud Mountain Recreation Area is beautiful and come rain or shine, organizers are excited about the trail run that shows off its pristine scenery.
About 40 people braved the rain to do the run last year () with then 14-year-old Shay Glackin-Coley of Tacoma taking overall first with a time of 36:07.

Do you think you can beat that time? Maybe you just want to get a nice trail run in with some friendly competition to give you a boost? It's not too late to register for the race. And new this year is the option of running in a team. Sign up five or more runners to make a team and the top five fastest times count towards team awards. The top three teams win awards.
The price is $30 per person (add $5 to receive a tech shirt and subtract $5 for runners under 18).

A part of the proceeds will be used to send high school runners to camp. Organizers have been able to help six athletes attend camp.
