• New options for free preschool in Renton, Federal Way, Kent (federalwaymirror.com) — Families in Federal Way will soon have four new free preschool options through the state's ECEAP program, including sites at Green Gables Elementary and two College for Kids campuses. Starting in the 2026-27 school year, about 2,400 additional children statewide will gain access, with Federal Way, Renton, and Kent all adding locations aimed at low-income families.
   

• Todd Beamer football coach suspended (federalwaymirror.com) — Federal Way football fans will see Todd Beamer's head coach sidelined for five games, after league sanctions following self-reported WIAA violations by Federal Way Public Schools. An assistant will lead the Titans during the suspension, with few details released about the infractions as the team seeks its first win since 2024.
