Police Swarm Belfair School After Report Of Shooter
Police responded to Hawkins Middle School Wednesday morning on a report of a shooter, but there was none.

BELFAIR, WA - Police swarmed a middle school near Belfair Wednesday morning after getting a report that there was an active shooter. However, that report turned out to be false, according to the Mason County Sheriff's Office, and no one at Hawkins Middle School was injured or in danger. Both Hawkins and a neighboring high school were placed on lockdown.
The active shooter report came in around 11:30 a.m., but by 11:50 a.m., the North Mason School District reported that there was no shooter at the school. Superintendent told Seattle's KING 5 that a student was taken into custody for possibly having a weapon at the school.
Mason County authorities later reported that the active shooter report came after a report of a weapon found at North Mason High School. About 75 officers responded to the scene to search for the shooter or victims.
