• Swim lesson spots for 700-800 kids expected in Gig Harbor-area under new deal (thenewstribune.com) — Gig Harbor families could soon see much better access to swim lessons and open pool time as the Peninsula School District, city, and local park districts draft a deal to open high school pools to the public. The plan, targeted for 2027, could serve 700 to 800 children with lessons, cost the city about $60,000–$70,000, and offer reduced-rate access across the peninsula.
   

• Iconic regional car wash brand in Gig Harbor sells site to local competitor (thenewstribune.com) — Gig Harbor drivers will see a familiar pink-elephant landmark change hands as the Elephant Car Wash on 56th Street has been sold to a Classy Chassis–affiliated LLC for $4.85 million. Classy Chassis already runs car wash and oil-change sites on Kimball Drive, and details on how the new owner will transition the location are still being finalized.
