A Piece of New York Coming to Gig Harbor

Something memorial this way comes!!.

Being a native New Yorker, this means so much to me. I was 18 at the time the World Trade Center was built. I remember our high school class taking a school trip to the 54th floor, and wow, that was quite the ride.

The World Trade Center has always been part of my New York memories. When 9/11 happened, it was like a surreliastic moment. I was living in California and had just went to the Yahoo homepage. I saw a pic of a plane flying into the tower and thought that it was a made up photo.

There was no way that could have happened!! Yet it did happen and left so many in shock.  And now, here I am a Gig Harborite watching history being made all over again.  

And it is such a blessing to see our firefighters take time out of their life to travel to New York City and retrieve that girder.

God bless their trip there and back!!
