Affordable Jewelry Making Classes Just in Time for the Holidays

My daughter and I just took a jewelry making class at Michael’s in Tacoma and, to my surprise, I really enjoyed it.  I am not very crafty but they separate their classes into beginning (FUNdamental), intermediate, and advanced.  I was in the beginner class and that was perfect.  It’s a good way to learn new techniques and build on previous jewelry making knowledge, if you have any.  But no experience is required.  Most classes last about 2 hours so there is plenty of time for one-on-one assistance from the instructor.

We took the FUNdamentals of Bead Stringing where we made cute charm bracelets that wrap around your arm several times.  We also had time to make several styles of earrings.

Sarrah Wegner teaches the jewelry making classes and was so patient and wonderful.  She is great with kids and adults.  It was fun and interesting as she taught us the basic techniques then let us go and get creative with the pieces we were making.

At the beginning of every month they have Bead Night, which is an open house where the classes and projects coming up are explained.  It’s a chance to try out equipment and get any questions answered.  You can shop for beads and supplies for some of your upcoming projects as well as get some new ideas.  Bead Night is only $5 per person and you get many discounts and special offers on various items you will need for your projects.  The next Bead Night is Tuesday Nov 6^th from 3-8pm.  You can call ahead to reserve your spot or just drop in during those hours.

These classes are fun for all ages.  There are a wide variety of techniques offered for all skill levels.  There is even a class for making friendship bracelets for kids age 6+.  You can sign up for one or all of the classes offered in any order you want.

This is a great time to take advantage of these incredibly low prices for the classes.  My daughter plans to use her new skills to make holiday gifts that are unique and special.
