We were sad to hear that. Every once in a while a craving for good old American-style Chinese food creeps up and Harbor Monsoon fits that bill perfectly; the deep-fried, lightly breaded pork chunks draped in day-glow orange sweet & sour sauce; egg rolls with outer shells blistered and crisp, filled with sweet julienned Asian vegetables and shards of tender pork or chicken; and pork fried rice studded with peas, carrot cubes and slivers of fried egg.

Apparently the owners are ready to retire, and after having the restaurant there for 32 years, it is understandable. They have become a beloved restaurant around Gig Harbor and will be missed.
One of my initial concerns was for the employees who work there. I hope they all find employment quickly and that this is a case of one door closing, but another one opening. Best wishes to all of you!
If you can, go over there and enjoy one last Harbor Monsoon meal before it is here no more. Just a few weeks left!
