My First Gig Harbor Gig Fest and I loved it!!

Gig Harbor's day in the sun!! Everything that is Gig Harbor is paraded for all to see.

What a glorious day it was! It was if the sun could not help but be happy that . I didn't get to see the parade, but I was able to enjoy the booths and the boats and that really made my day. I even stopped by  for an appetizer and watched the world go by.

It's one thing to visit Gig Harbor from time to time, and its another thing to live here and feel truly connected to the community. There are many talented and passionate people here. People who have taken it upon themselves to reinvent the meaning of entrepreneurship, all in the name of doing "community", not just being a community.

For instance, I saw the Uncorked Canvas booth and was happy to see a family make a business out of bringing out people's desire to paint.

Then there is the bead store, where the folks in Gig Harbor have rallied to keep it open. True, anyone can go over the bridge to Tacoma to get beads, but that is not the point, the point is keeping the people here thriving, not just surviving.

Not to mention the many causes that people rally together to help, such as Breast Cancer, bringing the memories home, etc.

No city is without its problems, but from what I've experienced so far, I really love what Gig Harbor has shown me, a joie d'vivre! And no recession can quench that.
