The YMCA has so much to offer folks!
Talking about the virtues of having a YMCA in Gig Harbor.

Okay, another shameless plug for something that I truly love.
I had to mention how much we are blessed to have the here in Gig Harbor.
Washington is very good about featuring certain things. When I moved here from California (my hubby is a WA native), I noticed right away that libraries were plenteous and could be found in every city practically.

It was not that way in Northern CA. People had to push for bonds and vote for an expanded or better library. That really was an eye opener. Another thing that I noticed is how many YMCA's there are and they are expanding fast. There is a new one in Silverdale opening by the way.
Since I lived in Port Orchard, going to the one in Gig Harbor would have been expensive in fuel for me, because I planned on going more than once or twice a week!! Even going to Silverdale is pricey from Port Orchard...but, now that I am in Gig Harbor, I was so happy that the Y was practically in my backyard!

For many folks who live here, its not very far to get too. In fact, you can combine your shopping at Costco (grin) with your working out! At least I try to do that.
But in all seriousness, the Y is so much more than weight lifting, running and swimming. I found out that they are consistently reaching out to the community with various activities, camps, and creative venues. Something that has gotten my attention lately is .
Call it the public's desire to be like the folks on the show, 'Dancing With the Stars', but it's a Latin version of jazzercize with folks doing pretty neat moves in order to burn calories. I'm thinking about checking it out myself.
