Film Featuring Gig Harbor Childhood Cancer Survivor Screens Tuesday, Wednesday

Violet Brielle Spataro, 6, of Gig Harbor, will appear in the documentary "Look to the Sky."

GIG HARBOR, WA - A documentary about young people doing amazing things will feature Gig Harbor childhood cancer survivor Violet Brielle Spataro, and will be screened at the Galaxy Theater at the end of June. Spataro is the founder of the Live Love Foundation, which helps children battling cancer, and was once "chief for a day" in Gig Harbor. The documentary "Look to the Sky" will tell Spataro's story, along with other young people who demonstrate "the spirit of Superman."

The Jaycox-Gig Harbor Police Benevolent Fund and the Live Love Foundation, in cooperation with Galaxy Theatres, are excited to announce a special presentation of the inspirational movie, Look to the Sky. This film includes a segment featuring 6-year old Violet Brielle Spataro from Gig Harbor and her story of perseverance and giving to others.

Look to the Sky weaves together the uplifting true stories of young people who have demonstrated the spirit of Superman. This feature-length documentary explores the power of hope and the importance of positive ideals while encouraging viewers to find the superhero within them. Look to the Sky is an inspiring look at what is possible for the world and for our own lives. Put on your cape, and be inspired!

All proceeds from these screenings will benefit the Jaycox-Gig Harbor Police Benevolent Fund and the Live Love Foundation. The Jaycox Gig Harbor Police Benevolent Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to charitable and educational purposes by assisting members of the community in need, especially youth. Live Love Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing love, hope and encouragement to children battling cancer through family assistance and custom care packages called Blessing Bundles.

Violet Brielle Spataro, a cancer survivor, is the driving force behind the Live Love Foundation. Her work has touched many other children who are battling cancer. Violet is a past “Chief for a Day” for the Gig Harbor Police Department and is a regular guest on The Ellen Show. Violet will help introduce Look to the Sky at each of the showings.

There will be two showings of Look to the Sky at the Galaxy Theatre Uptown: Tuesday, June 27th and Wednesday, June 28th. Both showings begin at 7:00 p.m. Purchase tickets through the Galaxy Theaters website.
