Sharon Carr gave up art when she was eight years old and we are so fortunate that she embraced it with a renewed sense of focus as she neared 50. Sharon’s solo exhibition, “A Beautiful Place to Live” is a perfect description of her comfortable vibrant images and amazing scenes. The title also describes beuatifully the place she has chosen to live and work, the Pacific Northwest. An exhibit of a portion of her acrylic portfolio runs at Morso April 28 – May 22, 2011 with a Meet the Artist opening reception on Friday, May 6th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
Sharon describes her life journey, “In school I got good marks in everything except art. Even though I loved colors and paint, I decided then to stick with what the teacher told me I was good at. The gift of nearing fifty was growing into a freedom and a sense of humor that no longer cared what the teacher thought. I began to paint just for the joy of painting. Painting carried me away. I retired from my day job as a psychotherapist and am now a working artist.”
