Historical Society Annual Meeting and "Fox Island's Little Known Indian History" Presentation

Please join us for the Annual Fox Island Historical Society Meeting. There will be a presentation and refreshments served.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, the Fox Island Museum invites you to join us for a presentation on Fox Island's Little Known Indian History. Learn the answers to which Puget Sound tribes were here and what life was like while interned on Fox Island from November 1855 to January 1857.  Hear the surprising facts of Leschi's visit to Fox Island in January of 1856 that sent the military at Fort Steilacoom, the citizenry of Steilacoom, and the British at Fort Nisqually into a frenzy.

We also will have on display a very special basket collection loaned to us by island resident Ellen Griffin.
