The Fox Island United Church of Christ will once again host a "Peace on Earth Day” interfaith community music festival on Earth Day, April 22nd at 3pm. The concert and
environmental fair is sponsored by La Voz de Paz, a local interfaith choral group, most recently appearing at the Tacoma Dome for the Martin Luther King Memorial Celebration last January.
Nearly a dozen groups from local churches as well as performers from Tacoma, youth and adult, offer songs focused on peace and environmental concerns. The Peace on Earth Day concert and environmental fair benefits the Peninsula Communities of Faith and the Food Backpacks 4 Kids program. Admission is free, with food or free-will donations accepted at the door. There will be Earth Day activities, a puppet show for children of all ages, and refreshments following the concert.
