Fire Breaks Out At Popular Purdy Restaurant
The grease fire broke out around 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to Gig Harbor Fire.

GIG HARBOR, WA — Gig Harbor firefighters were quick to stop a grease fire early Tuesday morning, saving a popular local bar and restaurant.
The fire broke out around 6 a.m. Tuesday at the Flotation Device, which is located off SR 302 north of 144th Street Northwest. The grease fire started on a cook top, firefighters said. The firefighters were able to apply a chemical powder, quickly extinguishing the fire.
The Flotation Device typically opens at 6:30 a.m. for breakfast, but expect the restaurant to be closed for cleanup. The cook top and the air vent above were damaged by the fire.
