Freezing Rain Warning Issued For Puget Sound Area

The National Weather Service has put out a special weather statement warning of hazardous conditions.

GIG HARBOR, WA - The National Weather Service has put out a special weather statement for Western Washington warning of the potential for freezing rain.

The weather service is saying that precipitation will move through the region Thursday night into Friday morning. Up to one-tenth of an inch of ice could form on roadways and other surfaces, according to the forecast.

The weather service is saying that areas south and west of Tacoma, including Thurston County and southern Mason County, have the highest potential for ice accumulation. However, the statement covers the entire Puget Sound area, from Bellingham to Hoquiam.
