Gig Harbor Stepmom Sentenced In Teen's Overdose Death
Karen Inskip will got to jail for more than a year for her stepson's June 2016 morphine overdose death.

GIG HARBOR, WA - A Gig Harbor stepmother who accidentally gave her stepson a fatal dose of morphine was sentenced Monday. Karen Inskip was sentenced to 15 months in jail and 18 months of community service on a manslaughter charge, according to Q13.
Dylan Creighton, 15, died in June 2016 from what would later be ruled a morphine overdose. Inskip allegedly gave Creighton a dose of her prescription painkiller, which she mistook for the teen's own ADHD medication. She originally told authorities, however, that she gave Creighton oxycodone, not morphine.
Creighton was unresponsive for about 12 hours before Inskip called for help. Creighton died after several days later at Tacoma General Hospital.
