GIG HARBOR, WA - A woman who was arrested in Gig Harbor in April three times for DUI over the course of six days was sentenced on Wednesday. Joy Reese pleaded guilty to the three DUI charges and was sentenced to 265 days in jail, substance abuse treatment, and five years probation.
Reese was first arrested on April 15 at a Gig Harbor gas station. The clerks called 911 after she was acting strangely, and a breathalyzer test two hours after her arrest revealed a .29 blood-alcohol content, which is nearly four times the legal limit of .08. Two days later, Reese was involved in a crash at a grocery store, and had a blood-alcohol content of .22. She was taken to the hospital, and was released before police could arrest her.
She was arrested a final time on April 21 when she was involved in another incident at the same grocery store - and she had the same BAC of .22. After that incident, she was booked into the Kitsap County Jail.
