Fundraiser For Girl Found Unresponsive In Gig Harbor YMCA Pool
Lacey Foy, 8, was found unresponsive in the Gig Harbor YMCA pool Saturday. A preexisting seizure disorder may have caused the accident.

GIG HARBOR, WA - An 8-year-old girl who was found unresponsive over the weekend in a pool at the Tom Taylor YMCA remained in critical condition Tuesday, according her family. Lacey Foy is being treated at Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma.
Foy was swimming in a shallow pool at the YMCA Saturday afternoon when she was found unresponsive. Foy was a student at Evergreen Elementary in Lakebay. The Peninsula School District in a statement said that Foy had a seizure disorder that contributed to the near-drowning. Her father, Adam Foy, is a bus driver for the district.
Members of the Lakebay Community Church, which Foy attended, have set up a fundraiser for the family on YouCaring.com.

"Sweet Lacey’s parents and family need our help to relieve some of the financial burden that has come so unexpectedly through medical costs and flight expenses. In addition, both parents will experience reduced income as they address the tragedy that is now before them," the fundraiser page reads.
The YMCA shut down the pools following the incident, but they were reopened by Monday morning.
