Singer-Songwriter Grant Peeples made his west coast debut with a performance at recently.
The Aug. 6 concert was part of the Americana Series hosted by Morso and Michael ONeill Productions.
The folk singer from Florida began his music career at age 50. From 1995 to 2006, he and his wife lived on a tiny remote island off the coast of Nicaragua, where he installed the first flushing toilet.

"I was looking for a place to grow on my own and develop my inner life," he said. "It really didn't have anything to do about my dissatisfaction with the United States."
The 54-year-old said his satirical lyrics reflect his observations of life in the U.S. after his return.

In 2008, his "Sunshine State" song went viral on YouTube after it finished second in the State of Florida song contest.
