Independence Day: What's Closed, What's Open
While most governments and services will be closed, find out which businesses and establishments will be available throughout the community.
Happy Independence Day, everyone! Here is a list of what’s open and what's closed.
Closures
- Government offices, including all federal, state, Pierce County and the (including and )
- U.S. Post Office
- Pierce County Library System, including the locations inand .
- Banks: Many, if not most, will be closed. Check your local branch.
- American/D.M./Murrey's Disposal: Regular pick up schedule. (office closed.)
- Pierce Transit: Will run on Sunday schedule. (Offices closed.)
- : 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Women Wellness Center at Pt. Fosdick will be closed.)
- Most stores and restaurants will be open as normal.

- Express delivery companies: FedEx and UPS will be open.
- Tacoma Mall: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Kitsap Mall: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
