Logging on the Peninsulas topic of Watershed Council Meeting
DNR foresters, County and City planners, and home-owners will gather Tuesday, April 21, 2:30 pm at Pen Light headquarters

Residents who prize views, rural quiet, and proximity to Nature on the Gig Harbor and Key Peninsulas may consider commercial timber harvesting a threat to native wildlife, stream health, and our essential aquifers. On the other hand, many landowners consider harvesting timber on their property as a use of renewable resources, a return on long term investment, or source of income and a contribution to local jobs and lift to rural economies.
Key Peninsula/Gig Harbor Peninsula and Islands (KGI) Watershed Council is hosting a conversation about logging and forestry stewardship this side of the Narrows Bridge. The public is invited to enter this discussion with Jim Heuring, District Manager, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) South Puget Sound; Julie Sackett, DNR Landowner Assistance Forester; Adonais Clark, Senior Planner with Pierce County Planning and Land Services. The meeting Tuesday, April 21, begins 2:30 pm at Peninsula Light Company, 13315 Goodnough Drive.
Overflow parking is available along Goodnough Drive.
