Manslaughter Charge After Gig Harbor Teen's Overdose Death: Report
A stepmother faces charges after not reporting a fatal medication mistake.
GIG HARBOR, WA - The stepmother of a teen who died in June from a morphine overdose is facing second-degree manslaughter charges, reports say, because she failed to call for medical help for the teen.
Dylan Creighton, 15, died June 24 from what would later be ruled a morphine overdose. His stepmother, Karen Inskip, 49, allegedly gave Creighton a dose of her prescription painkiller, which she mistook for the teen's own medication, the Tacoma News-Tribune reports.
Inskip allegedly did not call for help until 12 hours after Creighton passed out from taking the wrong medication.
