Motorcyclist Collides Head-On With SUV West Of Gig Harbor
The accident happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday night along SR 302

GIG HARBOR, WA - A motorcyclist was seriously injured after colliding head-on with an SUV west of Gig Harbor Monday night. The crash happened around 9:30 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol. The motorcyclist had to be transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.

The accident happened along SR 302 near Wright-Bliss Road. The motorcyclist, identified as Leslie Jackson, 52, of Belfair, was driving westbound when he tried to pass a vehicle in front of him, according to state patrol. As he tried to re-enter the westbound lanes, he collided with a Volkswagen Touareg driving eastbound. The SUV was driven by Mark Bertolin, 62, of Tacoma. The accident occurred along a curve in the road.
Bertolin and his passenger were not injured in the crash.

State police are still investigating what caused the crash, and have not said whether anyone will be criminally charged.
